When is the best time to start the program?Today! Most people start as soon as they are scheduled for surgery. Our program is customized for each user and accounts for how many days remain until the surgery date. We offer longer and shorter programs, curating the content to offer the most impactful lessons given the available preparation time. Even if you only have one week until surgery, there are great steps you can take to get your body and mind in the best possible shape.

How do I get the most out of this program?Consistency is key. You’ll get the most out of MendBetter if you check-in to the app each day to complete the programming. It’s OK if every day isn’t perfect or you can’t fit in the activities some days. Challenge yourself to make progress every day, even if it’s just going for a walk, focusing on your breathing for a few minutes, or eating an extra serving of veggies with lunch. MendBetter’s prehab program is all about staying positive and building healthy habits. Small steps lead to big results.

I have a dietary restriction or physical limitation. Can I still use this program?Definitely. MendBetter’s programming is designed to apply to a wide audience and the material is adaptable to different lifestyles. The nutrition lessons include information for those following vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free diets. For the workouts, we offer modifiers to make the intensity lower or higher; you can always replace an overly challenging exercise with your favorite movement. We are working to enhance our program’s accessibility for those with hearing loss.
